Buy with Confidence

We want all our customers to feel confident, comfortable and safe when purchasing an item. The main worries people have when buying from a new website are mostly to do with payment, quality, and what happens when something isn’t quite right.

Payment

All of our payments either go through Paypal, or Stripe – your choice at checkout. You are fully covered by the protection of these payment gateways. This also means we never have access to your payment details, and cannot store any of your card details on our site – we never have visibility of any of your personal payment details.

Quality

There are two stages to our quality control – peer review and hallmarking.

About Peer Review

Peer review means that the person who finishes the item is not the person who checks for defects before boxing and sending to our customer. By keeping a check on each other’s work, we can pick up defects that may have escaped the attention of the person who was ‘too close to the work’ during the finishing process.

About Hallmarking

When it comes to manufacturing jewellery and silverware, precious metals (silver, palladium, gold and platinum) are rarely used in their purest form. Instead they are usually alloyed with lesser metals in order to achieve a desired strength, durability, and colour.

It is not possible to detect the precious metal content of an item by sight or by touch. It is, therefore, a legal requirement to hallmark all items consisting of silver, palladium, gold or platinum (subject to certain exemptions) if they are to be described as such.

All of our items are assayed (tested) and hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office and we are an Assay Assured Jewellery Retailer. Assay Assured status is only given to retailers who have been independently audited and verified by the Edinburgh Assay Office, and ensures that all precious metal jewellery (including items exempt by weight) is of the claimed standard – a protection over and above legal requirements. More information about hallmarking can be found here.

What happens when something isn’t right?

We’re certain that you’ll love your purchase but, on the rare occasion that it’s not right, we’ll be more than happy to offer a refund or exchange. Full details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.
